RV Shipments Rise 11%

Wholesale deliveries of recreation vehicles climbed to 79,400 units in the first quarter of 2013 from 71,400 units a year earlier, according to the Recreation Vehicle Industry Assn.

Shipments to dealers jumped 24% to 8,500 units for motor homes and increased 10% to 70,900 units for towable RVs.

RVIA forecasts that full-year shipments will grow 8% from 2012 to 307,300, which would be the first time since 2007 that annual volume surpassed 300,000 units.
