BMW AG's Rolls-Royce Motor Cars unit plans to more than double its dealer base in India by next year as it seeks to expand sales there.

Rolls-Royce, which currently has three dealerships in India, is adding one each in the northern and western regions of the country this year and will open two additional outlets in 2014.

Rolls-Royce has sold more than 250 Ghost and Phantom sedans there since it returned to the Indian market in 2005. The company won't disclose its annual sales in India or its future targets. Its worldwide deliveries rose 1% to a record 3,600 cars last year.

The marque plans to introduce the 46 million-rupee ($716,300) Wraith coupe in January. The ultra-luxury model is powered by a V-12 engine is mated with an 8-speed automatic transmission and generated 624 horsepower.
