Ford Motor Co.’s Spanish operations have teamed up with a local design studio to develop a concept baby crib that simulates the sounds, lights and motion of a car drive to help toddlers fall asleep.
Using a smartphone app, parents can customize the so-called Max Motor Dreams cot to replicate the sounds of their own vehicle, Ford says. The intent is to create a soothing environment for babies without requiring parents to leave their homes and take an actual car ride.
Ford, which developed the concept as part of a marketing campaign, doesn’t have any immediate plans to commercialize the cot. But the company says it reconsidering production plans after receiving several enquiries about the system.
