Reuss Cites Gaps in GM Lineup
General Motors Co.
General Motors Co. North American President Mark Reuss says despite introducing 13 new models in 2013, the company has holes in its product lineup.
Reuss tells Forbes.com the automaker needs:
- An additional truck slotted between a heavy-duty pickup and a medium-duty commercial truck to compete with the Ford F-350.
- A global compact utility van like Ford's Transit Connect.
- A five-door hatchback version of the Chevrolet Cruze.
- A stylish flagship luxury sedan for Buick. This large car is rumored to be on GM's product plan for the 2016 model year.
- A contemporary wagon that's more affordable than wagons from German automakers and the Cadillac CTS wagon.
Reuss gave no timeline for when the vehicles might go into production.
