The 55-year-old executive would succeed Stefan Sommer. ZF has been without a CEO since Sommer left in early December after losing a fight with the company’s owners over business strategy. ZF has declined to comment.
Scheider joined Robert Bosch GmbH as a trainee in 1987. By 2013 he was running the company’s automotive group. He quit a year later to take the top job at Mahle.
