Renault SA will select a new CEO to replace Carlos Ghosn in about mid-February, sources tell Les Echos.
The choice will be revealed at about the same time Renault reports its 2017 financial results, according to the French newspaper. It says Ghosn, who stepped down as CEO of Nissan Motor Co. last February, will remain as chairman of all three members of the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance.
Ghosn has served as Renault’s CEO since 2005. He will be 64 by the time his current contract expires in May 2018. Les Echos’ sources say the carmaker strongly favors an internal executive for the CEO position.
The newspaper says Ghosn’s likely successor is Thierry Bollore, currently Renault’s chief competitiveness officer; Thierry Koskas, head of sales and marketing; or Stefan Mueller, chief performance officer.
