Honda Motor Co. reportedly may supply the U.S. market with Fit small cars from Japan rather than Mexico.
Honda Motor Co. is pondering a plan that would supply the U.S. market with Fit small cars from Japan rather than Mexico, sources tell Reuters.
Honda currently builds U.S. versions of the Fit (pictured) at its factory in Celaya, Mexico. That facility also makes the more popular HR-V small crossover vehicle, which rides on the same platform, for the American market.
In addition to Mexico and Japan, Honda currently produces the Fit (also marketed as the Jazz) in Brazil, China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Taiwan, Thailand and the U.K.
