Report: Daimler to Add Pischetsrieder to Board

Daimler AG plans next year to name former BMW and Volkswagen chief Bernd Pischetsrieder to its supervisory report, according to Germany's Handelsblatt.

Pischetsrieder was CEO of BMW in 1993-1999 and CEO of Volkswagen Group in 2002-2006. He currently is on the joint advisory council of Allianz SE, the insurance and asset management company.

In April Daimler will ask shareholders to approve two other appointments to the board: Siemens CEO Joe Kaeser and former Bosch executive Bernd Bohr.

The three new appointees will succeed a trio of board members who will retire in 2014: Philips CEO Gerard Kleisterlee, former General Electric Vice Chairman Lloyd Trotter and former Dresdner Bank CEO Bernhard Walter.
