Report: China’s Car Sales Will Be Flat This Year

New-car sales in China will total about 28.1 million this year, unchanged from last year’s volume, the China Assn. of Automobile Manufacturers predicts.

CAAM says demand for so-called new-energy vehicles this year will jump 27% to a record 1.6 million units.

Retail sales of new cars dropped 6% in China last year, the market’s first full-year decline in at least 20 years. CAAM says wholesales of new cars to dealers dropped 3% to 28.1 million units.
