Volkswagen AG’s Audi unit intends to replace four of its seven management board members by mid-September, sources tell Reuters.

The executives expected to be dismissed are:

  • Thomas Sigi, head of human resources
  • Axel Strotbek, finance chief
  • Dietmar Voggenreiter, sales leader
  • Hubert Waltl, head of production

Critics have been calling for an overhaul of Audi’s top management team as more revelations emerge about the company’s contribution to VW’s diesel emission cheating scandal.

Audi CEO Rupert Stadler won’t be replaced, assuming no evidence emerges to indicate he knew about the cheating, according to Reuters. It says he still has the confidence of the Porsche-Piesch families that control VW.

Successors for the four executives haven’t been finalized. Audi and VW have declined to comment on the report.
