Renz Named CEO of Audi Sport Unit

Volkswagen AG’s Audi unit has named Michael-Julius Renz to be CEO of its Audi Sport GmbH unit, effective March 1.

Renz, 60, currently is president of Audi sales operations in China, a post he has held for two years. He will succeed Stephan Winkelmann, who has been selected to become president of VW’s Bugatti Automobiles unit on Jan. 1.

Winkelmann has headed Audi Sport since March 2016. The subsidiary handles development, production and sales of Audi’s R and RS high-performance models. The unit also manages customer racing and Audi-exclusive accessories.
