Renault SA is finalizing plans to broaden its product lineup in Brazil with three crossover models next year.

The company currently builds the Duster compact SUV at Sao Jose dos Pinhais. The plant, which also assembles Logan and Sandero cars, will add the Captur small crossover.

Early this year the Economic Times reported that Renault’s entry-level Kwid small crossover also will be assembled in Brazil from semi-knocked-down kits supplied by the company’s factory in Oragadam, India.

Reuters cites the head of Renault’s Brazilian unit, Fabrice Cambolive, as saying the company will begin importing its redesigned midsize New Koleos from South Korea next year.

Renault CEO Carlos Ghosn outlined the expanded lineup plan in August during a visit to the Brazilian manufacturing complex. At the time he said Renault’s plans to invest $158 million in its Brazilian operations through 2019 remains on schedule in spite of the country’s sagging car market.
