The Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance has made an unspecified investment in Transit App Inc., a Canadian startup that helps people navigate city transport options.

The investment was made through R-N-M’s Alliance Ventures strategic venture capital arm. Last week the unit made a similar outlay to WeRide.ai, a Chinese startup that specializes in autonomous vehicle technology.

Montreal-based Transit App was launched four years ago. The company’s Transit smartphone app currently works in more than 90 cities in 11 countries, providing users a platform that integrates data about multiple transportation options and provides step-by-step urban navigation.
