Renault Names New Engineering Head

Renault SA has named Gaspar Gascon Abellan, its former head of powertrain engineering, as executive vice president of engineering.

He succeeds Jean-Michel Billig, who left the company to pursue "personal projects." Both moves were effective early this month.

Abellan began his career with Renault in 1990 in Spain. He was named head of diesel engine projects in 2005 and vice president of powertrain projects, plan and partnerships in 2011.
