Renault SA’s board is widely expected to announce tomorrow that it is replacing CEO Thierry Bollore.

The board says it will issue a statement about corporate governance on Friday. Bollore was a close associate of former Chairman Carlos Ghosn, who now awaits trial for financial misconduct.

Renault and Nissan have been gradually removing Ghosn’s top lieutenants since his arrest in Japan 11 months ago. French news reports suggest that Clotilde Delbois, Renault’s chief operating officer, may be appointed interim CEO. She joined Renault seven years ago.

Reuters sources say Bollore deflected comment yesterday about his future during an internal video for internal staff, but emphasized that the viability of the Renault-Nissan alliance is more important that specific people.
