Remy International Appoints New President

Pendleton, Ind.-based Remy International Inc. has promoted John Pittas, its chief commercial officer, as president and CEO, effective immediately.

Pittas succeeds John Weber, who has stepped down after seven years leading Remy but remains a member of the company's board.

Pittas joined Remy, a maker of alternators, electric motors and starters for hybrid vehicles, in 2006 from Eagle Picher Industries. His previous employers include Honeywell, Fisher Controls and ARI Technologies.
