PSA to Assemble Sedans, Crossovers in Kenya

PSA Group has partnered in Kenya with importer/distributor Urysia Ltd. to assemble Peugeot brand cars and SUVs from kits beginning later this year.

The venture intends to initially build 508 sedans, then add 3008 SUVs. Combined annual output will be at least 1,000 units, according to PSA. The company last assembled vehicles in Kenya between 1974 and 2002

Nairobi-based Urysia has served as exclusive importer and seller of Peugeot brand vehicles in the country since 2010. PSA describes the new venture as part of its “Push to Pass” growth plan, whose focus includes expanding in markets outside Europe.
