PSA Group intends to begin assembling midsize commercial vans in the first quarter of 2018 at its factory in Kaluga, Russia.

The plant will produce Citroen Jumpy and Peugeot Expert vans, according to the company. PSA did not cite production targets for the vehicles. But it did note that the decision follows a revival of the Russian vehicle market after four years of shrinkage.

The Kaluga facility currently makes the Citroen C4 and Peugeot 408 small cars. PSA says the factory also will launch production early next year of the Citroen SpaceTourer and Peugeot Traveller passenger vans.

PSA says the two vans will have about 50% local content, compared with 35% localization for the two car models made at Kaluga.
