President of Shanghai GM Steps Down

Ye Yongming has resigned as president of Shanghai General Motors Co. to take a job as president of the state-owned supermarket chain Bailian Group, Automotive News China reports.

The online newspaper cites a notice on the Shanghai municipal government Web site.

Ye has headed GM's joint venture with Shanghai Automotive Industry Corp. since early 2011. The venture has not yet appointed Ye's successor.
