Porsche AG’s global sales chief declares the brand has “absolutely no intention” of adding models smaller or cheaper than its $45,000 Macan crossover vehicle or $56,000 Boxster sports car.

“We have nothing to gain” with such vehicles, Detlev von Platen tells Automotive News Europe. He says Porsche’s focus is on quality rather than quantity.

Platen acknowledges the brand will add electrified versions of its existing models, but these vehicles will fit into the lineup at higher price points. He suggests much of the brand's future investment will go into new services, such as a smart phone app that finds a parking spot, guides the driver to it and pays electronically, ANE reports.
