Porsche Opens Silicon Valley R&D Center

Volkswagen AG’s Porsche unit is opening a research and development center in Santa Clara, Calif.

The Silicon Valley facility will employ about 100 researchers. It will be part of Porsche Digital GmbH., which the carmaker formed last year to track trends and evaluate opportunities in connectivity and “smart” mobility.

Porsche Digital already has invested in venture-capital fund E.ventures US and expects to add other partners through the California office. Headed by Thilo Koslowski, Porsche Digital also has offices in Berlin and Ludwigsburg, Germany.
