Pischetsrieder Will Join Daimler Board

Daimler AG has nominated former BMW and Volkswagen CEO Bernd Pischetsrieder to its supervisory board. Shareholders will vote on his nomination in April.

The German newspaper Handelsblatt reported the pending appointment two months ago.

Pischetsrieder headed BMW between 1993 and 1999 and VW between 2002 and 2006. He was replaced at VW in 2007 by Martin Winterkorn. Since then he has been serving on the joint advisory council of Allianz SE, the insurance and asset management company.
