PSA Group’s Team Peugeot Total captured the top three spots in the two-week Dakar Rally completed on Saturday.

French driver Stephane Peterhansel won his 13th Dakar title (seven in a car and six on a motorcycle). He edged out teammate and former World Rally Championship winner Sebastien Loeb by more than five minutes over the 5,400-mile course through South America.

Cyril Depres finished third, about 33 minutes behind Peterhansel. A fourth Peugeot car driven by Carlos Sainz dropped out after rolling several times during the fourth stage. All four piloted specially equipped versions of Peugeot's 3008 crossover vehicles called the 3008 DKR.

Two of this year’s race’s 12 stages were cancelled and three more were shortened due to torrential rain that caused flooding and landslides. This year's event started in Asuncion, Paraguay, and ended in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The Rally hasn't been held in Africa since 2007 due to security concerns.
