General Motors Co.'s Opel unit will use next month's Geneva auto show to unveil the latest addition to its Adam minicar lineup, the Adam Rocks crossover. The car will hit the European market this summer.

Opel showed the Adam Rocks in concept form at the Geneva show last year. The company describes the three-door production version as cool and tough, chunky and funky.

The car, which measures only 3.7 meters (12 feet) long, gains 15 mm (5/8 inches) of ground clearance compared with a standard Adam. The two-tone vehicle comes with matte black body cladding around the wheel wells and sills and glossy black roof and pillars. An electrically retractable canvas roof is standard.

The model debuts Opel's new 1.0-liter 3-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine. The unit delivers 115 hp and 122 lb-ft of torque to the front wheels through an all-new 6-speed manual transmission. Opel expects the car to be rated at 4.3 liters/100 km (54.7 mpg) on the European test cycle.
