November Truck Sales Climb 13% in Europe

European sales of commercial trucks and buses jumped to 210,700 units last month from 186,800 in November 2015, according to trade group ACEA.

Growth was led by gains in France (+15% to 40,300 units), Italy (+70% to 24,900) and Spain (+14% to 18,600). Sales rose 2% to 33,000 units in Germany and 4% to 34,900 vehicles in the U.K.

Deliveries of light-duty commercial vehicles climbed 13% to 174,700 units in November. Heavy-truck sales rose 12% to 25,800 units. Bus and coach sales were flat at 3,700.

Commercial truck sales through the first 11 months of 2016 totaled 2.18 million, up 11% from the same period last year, ACEA reports.
