General Motors Co. is adding Wes Bush, chairman of Northrop Grumman Corp.’s board of directors, as a director to its own board. The appointment expands the size of GM’s board to 13.
Bush, 57, was Northrop Grumman’s CEO from 2010 through 2018. He has been chairman since 2011.
Bush previously served as president and chief operating officer, corporate vice president and chief financial officer of the aerospace and defense giant. He also headed the company’s space technology unit. Bush joined Northrop Grumman in 2001 through the company’s acquisition of TRW.
GM reentered the defense business in early 2018 with the creation of a new subsidiary. GM Defense initially will focus on developing fuel cell technologies for military vehicles.
Bush is the third member to join GM's board since last April. He follows eBay CEO Devin Wenigand Jami Miscik, who heads the consulting firm Kissinger Associates.
