Federal safety investigators have launched an investigation into reports of transmission failures in 2013 model year Nissan Pathfinder and Infiniti JX35 crossover vehicles. The probe covers about 110,000 vehicles.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is focusing on transmission cooler line failures that owners say cause a sudden loss of transmission fluid. The agency notes that Nissan and Infiniti issued service bulletins in July to repair a similar problem.
