Nissan Motor Corp. plans to recall its Serena minivan and Suzuki Landy variant in Japan to fix a problem that can cause the engine to stall in cold weather.
Affected vans were built between November 2010 and this August.
Nissan tells Japan's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism that ice crystals can form inside the vehicle's fuel pump filter. Icing blocks fuel flow to the engine, causing poor acceleration or stalling.
The company says its dealers will reprogram the minivan's computer to increase idle speed under cold conditions and keep the engine compartment warmer.
