Nissan Sales in Asia, Oceania Plunge 38%

Nissan Motor Co. reports that its sales in Oceania and Asia outside China, India and Japan fell to 19,300 units last month from 31,200 in February 2013.

The biggest declines were in Thailand (-53% to 5,100 units), Australia (-45% to 4,500), Indonesia (-17% to 4,300) and Malaysia (-42% to 2,600). Sales in other parts of the region rose 11% to 2,900 units.

The company did not comment on the reason for the sharp drop in demand for its vehicles.
