Nissan Motor Co. is preparing to recall 13,500 of its model 2012-2014 Frontier midsize pickup trucks to fix a wiring problem that could cause a fire.
Affected vehicles contain an incorrectly installed circuit breaker that misaligns the main wiring harness connecting to it. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says the harness could rub against a bolt in the A-pillar, eventually causing a short circuit and fire.
Nissan says a short circuit would first the power seats and sunroof inoperable. It also could cause the battery to discharge when the ignition is off.
