Nissan Motor Co. is recalling about 841,000 Micra supermini cars and Cube MPVs to tighten the nut that secures the steering wheel to the steering column.

The campaign includes 133,900 Nissan Micras built at the company's plant in Sunderland, England, between 2002 and 2006. The balance of the recall involves Cube MPVs made in Japan during the same period and sold in most parts of the world, though not in the U.K.

As the nut loosens, the steering wheel may wobble and eventually could come off, according to Nissan. Dealers will either tighten the bolt or replace the steering wheel. The company reports no accidents or injuries related to the defect.
