Nissan Panel Poised to Consider Ghosn Successor

Ghosn was removed as chairman on Nov. 22 after he was arrested three days earlier on suspicion of financial misconduct. At the time, the board said its independent directors would nominate a new chairman from the list of existing directors.
The board is scheduled to choose a new chairman when it meets on Dec. 17.
The three-member panel also has been asked to lead an effort to find an outside advisor to can help the company reform its management and compensation systems. Nissan CEO Hiroto Saikawa has told reporters that Ghosn amassed an excessive concentration of power.
