NMKV Co., the 50:50 joint venture between Nissan Motor Co. and Mitsubishi Motors Corp., is introducing four second-generation minicars this month.

All four models—the Nissan Dayz, Nissan Dayz Highway Star (pictured), Mitsubishi eK wagon and Mitsubishi eK X—are produced at Mitsubishi’s Mizushima plant in Kurashiki, Japan. The first generation of the vehicles debuted in 2013.

The tiny cars will ride on an upgraded version the platform NMKV developed for the so-called kei-cars, which are powered by 660-cc engines. The cars get upgraded powertrains and for the first time will offer Nissan’s ProPilot semi-autonomous driver-assist technologies.
