Nissan Motor Co. has pupped-out its Rogue crossover with the dog-friendly Dogue project vehicle.

The carmaker’s skunkworks design team worked with Sun Valley, Calif.-based Vehicle Effects on the concept. The companies also partnered on the similarly outfitted X-Trail 4Dogs concept that was introduced earlier this year in Canada and Europe.

The Dogue’s cargo area features a quilted raised floor with a retractable dog ramp and storage bins with fold-out water and food dispensers. Other dog treats include a removable bed, heated air vents, harness restraint anchors, custom keychain and a dog first-aid kit.

A pass-through with a removable divider provides access to the second-row seats, where Fido can lounge on a specially designed canine hammock. On the exterior, there are connections for a pressurized dog washing unit—with a 10-gallon water reserve—and heated blow dryer.

There’s also a two-way dog cam and audio system and a side-view camera to automatically record and upload any head-out-the-window, jowl-flapping moments.

There are no immediate production plans for the concept. But Nissan says it would be relatively easy to do so if demand warrants.
