Nielsen Named Head of Daimler’s North American Truck Unit

Roger Nielsen has been appointed president and CEO of Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA), effective April 1.

He will have responsibility for Daimler, Freightliner and Western Star commercial trucks brands, Thomas Built buses and Detroit Diesel Corp. He succeeds Martin Daum, who joined Daimler’s management board on March 1 to oversee the company’s truck and bus operations.

Nielsen, 56, has been chief operating officer for DTNA since 2001. He joined the company in 1986.
