The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is looking into three reports of fire breaking out in the headliners of 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee SUVs.

Drivers say they smelled smoke and then saw flames near the passenger-side sun visor. There were no reported injuries, but all three vehicles were damaged.

The NHTSA investigation, which covers about 146,000 Cherokees, has not yet determined a cause of the blazes. Chrysler Group LLC says its engineers are helping NHTSA with the probe.
