Kia Motors Corp.’s redesigned Forte compact sedan will feature sportier styling, borrowing cues from the carmaker’s new Stinger fastback.

Design renderings show a muscular front with a creased hood, reworked “tiger nose” grille, tapered headlights and lower bumper line. The rear sports a short deck lid with a full-width strip that connects the taillights. Turn signals are positioned within the lower bumper.

The interior is described as having a “horizontal theme” with clean lines and minimal buttons, which Kia says creates a sense of openness. Other features include a large infotainment screen and circular vents on the dashboard, similar to those found in the Stinger.

Kia will publicly unveil the third-generation Forte next week at the Detroit auto show. Sales will start later this year.
