General Motors Co. has released photos of the all-new Chevrolet Silverado HD (2500/3500) heavy-duty pickup truck ahead of a planned public unveiling in February.

Equating the 2020 model’s appearance to that of a “piece of heavy machinery with chiseled finishes,” Chevy says it aimed to make a statement and visually capture the truck’s power and capability. The HD’s roof is the only body part shared with the full-size Silverado 1500 pickup.

The front-end is dominated by a massive grille with “Chevrolet” spelled out across the grille bar in place of the brand’s iconic bowtie badge. Other styling cues include a chiseled hood with a chrome-trimmed scoop, LED headlights and integrated “bedsteps” at the rear of the vehicle.

No interior photos were provided, but Chevy says the vehicle will feature a higher seating position for front-seat occupants. Crew cab variants will add three inches of rear-seat legroom.

Buyers will be able to choose between an all-new gasoline engine with direct injection or the existing Duramax V-8 diesel. The former will be mated with a 6-speed automatic transmission, while the diesel is paired with a new 10-speed Allison gearbox.

Chevy says the upgrades will provide "significant” increases in towing and payload capabilities and a user-friendly trailering system.
