Toyota Motor Corp. has released a teaser photo of the 2018 Camry midsize sedan, which will be publicly unveiled next month at the Detroit auto show.

The cropped shot shows the rear corner of the sporty XSE variant of the car. Highlights include a redesigned LED taillight with a vertical styling line, small rear spoiler and a more sculpted design than the current Camry.

Some media reports speculate the vehicle could have a 5-door hatchback design.

The new Camry is expected to ride on Toyota’s New Global Architecture that underpins the Prius hybrid. The lightweight chassis features extensive use of aluminum.

The current-generation Camry was introduced as a 2012 model. The last major refresh was in 2015.
