New ’Vette, Ram HD, Kia Telluride Win Motor Trend Awards

Motor Trend hasnamed the Chevrolet Corvette, Ram Heavy Duty pickup and Kia Telluride SUV/crossover vehicle as its Car, Truck and SUV of the year, respectively.

The all-new mid-engine C8 Vette was praised for its value and performance. It bested the Audi A8, Kia Soul, Mercedes A-Class and Mercedes-AMG GT, Porsche 911 Carrera S, Subaru Legacy, Tesla Model 3 and Toyota Supra.

The three-row Telluride, described by judges as a compelling family SUV, was lauded for a long list of standard features, spacious seating and refined driving dynamics. The other SUV finalists were the Audi e-tron, BMW X5, Lincoln Aviator and Corsair, Mercedes GLS, Porsche Cayenne and Subaru Outback.

The diesel-powered Ram HD received high marks for its posh interior and smooth ride. Other finalists in the category were the Chevy Silverado 1500 and 2500HD pickups, Ford Ranger, GMC Sierra 1500 and 3500, Jeep Gladiator and Ram 1500.

Hyundai Group design chief Peter Schreyer was honored as MT’s Person of the Year.
