China's Great Wall Motor Co. has again postponed delivery of its Haval H8 SUV, this time to address complaints from owners about transmission noises when the vehicle is driven at high speed, The Nikkei reports.

Great Wall unveiled the 210,800-yuan ($33,800) H8 at the Guangzhou auto show last November. But by January the company announced it would delay deliveries for three months to fix eight significant operational deficiencies in the vehicle. Among them were excessive noise, poor brake pedal feel and an overly boosted power steering system.

The company began taking orders for the H8 in mid-April. But now it says it will again postpone deliveries, this time for an unspecified period, to remedy the high-speed noise problem.

Great Wall announced the latest delay after suspending trading of its shares. The company's stock price has multiplied by a factor of 40 over the past five years, driven mainly by the company's reputation for cost control. But analysts say problems with the H8 show Great Wall is struggling with the world-class technologies it needs to break into the global automotive marketplace.
