Mitsubishi Motors Corp. will debut three concept cars in November at the Tokyo auto show, all incorporating a new SUV design language and highlighting next-generation technologies.
MMC says the suite of technologies, which it calls @earth Technology, addresses such consumer hot buttons as environmental responsibility, driving pleasure, safety and ruggedness.
The three concepts are the:
- Concept GC-PHEV, a fullsize SUV that offers the drivability of MMC's Super All-Wheel Control and the all-terrain capability of an SUV with the efficiency of a Plug-In hybrid electric powertrain.
- Concept XR-PHEV, a small crossover with a lightweight and highly efficient plug-in hybrid powertrain and the nimble driving feel and body style of a sport coupe.
- Concept AR, a compact MPV that offers the mobility of an SUV with the interior space of a minivan. The vehicle is powered by a small direct-injection turbocharged gasoline engine.
