Mitsubishi Motors Corp. says it will resume production of its midsize Pajero Sport SUV in Russia in November.

MMC suspended Pajero output in 2015 as the Russian market entered its third year of slumping sales. The company will relaunch the vehicle in a facility it operates in Kaluga with PSA Group.

The joint-venture factory continued to make about 10,000 of MMC’s larger Outlander SUV per year during the Russian market’s slump. MMC plans to build about 20,000 Pajeros per year, according to the Nikkei.

The newspaper notes that MMC also is launching Outlander production in Malaysia, where it also makes the ASX small crossover vehicle (called the RVR in Japan) through local assembler Tan Chong Motor Holdings Bhd.
