Nissan Motor Co. has named Christian Meunier to head its Infiniti luxury division, effective immediately.
Meunier succeeds Roland Krueger, who is leaving the company to pursue “new opportunities.” Krueger had led Infiniti since 2015 and is credited with shepherding the brand through an “important” growth period.
Beginning his Nissan career in Europe in 2002, Meunier has held a variety of international executive roles—including stints leading the carmaker’s sales operations in the U.S. and Canada. He most recently was vice president of Infiniti’s global marketing and sales team.
The switch is the latest move in a management shakeup that began in November with the arrest of former Chairman Carlos Ghosn for financial wrongdoing. Nissan board member Greg Kelly also has been removed. The company announced last weekend that Jose Munoz, its chief performance officer, and Arun Bajaj, its human resources chief, each has taken a leave of absence.
