Mercedes Goes Real-Life with Gran Turismo Video Car

Daimler AG's Mercedes-Benz division has unveiled a physical version of a fantasy supercar that stars in the Gran Turismo 6 video game.

The AMG Vision Gran Turismo is a 3,100-lb silver gullwing-door racer powered by a V-8 engine that makes 577 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque. Daimler unveiled the concept this week at its R&D center in Sunnyvale, Calif.

Buyers of Sony's PlayStation 3 console will be able to slip into the Vision's F1-inspired cockpit for virtual laps behind the wheel.

The outlandishly proportioned car isn't likely to go into production.
