Daimler AG says it will produce 20-30 copies per year of its G63 AMG 6x6, a six-wheeled iteration of the already outrageous four-wheel version of the all-terrain vehicle, Autoweek reports.
The all-wheel-drive 6x6 is expected to be priced at roughly $400,000 when it goes on sale in October.
The 8,300-lb four-seater is 19 feet long, nearly 7 feet wide and more than 7 feet tall. Its twin-turbocharged V-8 engine delivers 536 hp and 560 lb-ft of torque through an upgraded seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. The drivetrain has five locking differentials that are controlled by three driver-operated switches.
Daimler says the big truck can zip from zero to 62 mph in less than 6 seconds. Top speed is electronically limited to 100 mph.
The 6x6 rides on 37-inch-diameter tires, whose pressure can be adjusted on the fly. The vehicle offers 18 inches of ground clearance and the ability to wade through 3.3 feet of water. But its payload is a paltry 1,400 lbs.
