In the upright position, the thin-film transistor screen shows a full range of IP information. The format changes depending on which of the three settings the vehicle is being driven in: Comfort, Sport or Track.
Folded away in “slim” mode, a narrow strip (below) displays essential information such as the transmission’s current gear, engine rpm and vehicle speed. McLaren says the setup minimizes distraction and simplifies visual information to allow drivers to better focus their attention during track runs and other aggressive maneuvers.
An 8-inch touchscreen in the center console will include controls for the vehicle’s audio, media and navigation systems.
McLaren will unveil the high-powered supercar at next week’s Geneva auto show. The vehicle, which will replace the current 650S, is expected to be called the 720S.
