McLaren Automotive Names New CEO

British supercar maker McLaren Automotive Ltd. has promoted Chief Operating Officer Mike Flewitt to chief executive officer, effective immediately.

Flewitt joined the company in May 2012 as chief operating officer, a title that has now been eliminated.

He previously spent nine years at Ford Motor Co., most recently as vice president of manufacturing for that company's European operations. Flewitt's earlier assignments were in manufacturing and operations at TWR Group, AutoNova, Rolls-Royce and Bentley Motor Cars.
