Maserati SpA will double the size of its global dealer network to about 500 outlets by the end of next year to support its plan to boost sales to 75,000 units by 2018.

By then, the Fiat SpA-owned luxury carmaker expects to more than double sales to 30,000 units and triple annual revenue to €6 billion, CEO Harald Wester tells Bloomberg Television.

The company is preparing to add a sports car and a crossover vehicle to its four-model lineup. Maserati pricing starts at €49,400 for the base Ghibli sedan.

Last week Bloomberg reported that Maserati hoped to increase production 20% to 900 cars per week this summer, in part by transferring as many as 500 workers from Fiat factories elsewhere in Italy. But the news service cites the FISMIC union as saying a dispute over labor contracts has at least temporarily suspended the plan.
