Fiat-Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne will remain to lead the companies for at least three more years after they merge this month, according to Fiat Chairman John Elkann.

Fiat is acquiring the 41.5% of Chrysler it doesn't already own in a $3.65 billion (€2.68 billion) deal it expects to finalize by next week.

Separately, Marchionne tells reporters at the Detroit auto show that Fiat's board will discuss where to put the headquarters of the merged companies when it meets on Jan. 29.

Marchionne previously floated the idea of relocating post-merger Fiat to the Netherlands. He also has said he would prefer to have the merged company's primary stock listing in New York City.
